Hi, I am Naledi Modupi

I'm so glad you're here. Take your time, explore, and make yourself at home.

I am a cross-disciplinary artist

Creating from Johannesburg, I use painting, illustration, sculpture, and photography to create powerful visual narratives that reclaim identity and celebrate the depth of Black womanhood.

My work is a way of expressing my deep obsession with the female face, the female story, and the layers that make her who she is, identity, memory, and fate.

But beyond that, I create to learn, to grow, and to enjoy the endless possibilities that come with being creatively free.

31 Faces 31 Voices

A powerful storytelling series that celebrates and embraces the diverse experiences of women. Each day, for 31 days, a different woman shared her personal story, amplifying voices that are often unheard and honouring the strength, vulnerability, and authenticity of each narrative. This project has created space for women to tell their own stories, in their own words, fostering connection, empowerment, and understanding across communities.

A Journey of Fate & Identity

Vibrant and unapologetic, this collection of vases explores fate and identity, and opens the door to my evolving journey into ceramics.
